[Abstract]
Data flows, digital innovation, and AI applications are increasing exponentially, just at a time of geopolitical confrontation and global governance crisis. What are the implications of such a mismatch between innovation and global regulation? What are current responses and possible pathways ahead?

In this presentation, Dr. Yves Tiberghien evaluates existing global regimes and responses (including the latest digital elements at the Bali G20), as well as regional, cross-regional (such at the Quad), and national responses. He argues a more robust regulatory response is crucial to protect democracy, avoid major domestic crises, and shape the future human direction in a way that matches human values.
