This course is designed to foster leaders in science, technology, and innovation policy with the knowledge and skills necessary to play an active role in policy-making and assembling evidence for such policy-making within government agencies and research
institutions, as well as the knowledge and skills for conducting research in science, technology, and innovation policy.
Students will learn about science, technology, and innovation governance through omnibus-type lectures (primarily in the first half) and group work (primarily in the latter half.) The group work will focus on one of the following three themes, which students will select.
The STIG program will host a series of guest lectures by the prominent scholars and decision-makers in the science, technology, and innovation fields. It will be a part of the STIG seminar. Seminars will be provided with simultaneous translations into English. All students who are interested in Japanese science and techonology are encouraged to take the course.
The class of October 8, will be held by inviting Prof. Masahiro Kuroda at JST-CRDS.
