On Saturday, October 19, 2024, on the same day as Todai Homecoming Day, we organized the STIG Alumni x Students Reunion & Ph.D. presentations in-person in the Seminar Room of the IAR Bldg. Eight alumni, seven current students, and six faculty members attended.
First, poster session by five STIG Ph.D. students (three Japanese and two international) was held as the STIG Doctoral Research Presentation. Each presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session, fostering relationships between different academic fields and deepening the knowledge of all participants.
At the STIG Alumni Reunion, held after lunch, Prof. Hideaki Shiroyama gave opening remarks as the program director, then Proj. Associate Prof. Koji Kimita gave an update on the STIG program in terms of both research and education. This was followed by an exchange meeting between alumni and current students. The small social gathering, divided into four groups with a change of members in between, provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their friendship in a lively atmosphere.
Finally, faculty, staff, alumni, and current students exchanged ideas on how to maintain and strengthen the STIG network. It is hoped that this event will further strengthen the STIG network.

STIG will hold two events as follows, which coincide with the Todai Homecoming Day 2024.
1. Research presentations by STIG Ph.D.students
Through discussions among current students and alumni with different knowledge, we expect it will not only be an opportunity to consider future directions, but also to lead to new research and collaboration.
