Current situation and future of pharmaceutical industry

The Japanese national innovation policy has expected the medical and pharmaceutical industries to play a pivotal role in leading the “intellectual property-based economy.” This seminar invites Dr. Michihiro Tsuchiya, Chairman of the Board & Representative Director (and the former CEO) of the Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation, one the main Japanese pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Tsuchiya lectures on the changing business/policy environment and the future vision of the industries with some case studies of pharmaceutical R&D. He also discusses expectations for the innovation policy from the industry perspective and expectations for students and the youth who should engage in R&D and realize innovation or who should design and execute innovation policies in the near future.
※This Seminar will be held as the course of “Case Study(Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy”.
